Kristi’s journey to All About Animals Pet Clinic is rooted in a lifelong love for both people and pets. Growing up in Monticello and now living in Mahomet, she has always valued family, community, and the comfort that animals bring to daily life. Before joining the clinic, Kristi worked as a paramedic, a career that gave her valuable experience in the medical field and taught her the importance of staying calm and compassionate in stressful situations. Those same skills now shine through at the front desk, where she helps clients feel welcome, reassured, and confident that their pets are in caring hands.
As a Client Service Representative, Kristi enjoys the balance of connecting with families and interacting with their pets. She takes pride in greeting new patients, offering gentle attention to the animals, and building relationships with their owners. Every appointment is an opportunity to make clients feel valued and supported while ensuring their pets have a positive experience. For Kristi, the most rewarding part of her role is knowing that her work contributes to the trusting, compassionate environment that defines All About Animals Pet Clinic.
Outside of the clinic, Kristi leads a full and joyful life. She shares her home with her husband, three dogs—Jake, Lulu, and Nova—and one cat, Bean, who happily rules the household. She enjoys reading, crocheting, and camping trips with her family, along with walking the bike trail and playing fetch with Jake and Nova. A proud grandmother of seven grandchildren under the age of nine, Kristi has become a Disney movie expert and loves every moment spent with her growing family.
With her medical background, warm personality, and dedication to animals, Kristi is a valued member of the All About Animals team. She looks forward to welcoming every client and pet who visits the clinic.
Claire
Veterinary Assistant
Claire’s journey to veterinary medicine began in an unexpected way. Originally on a pre-med track at Eastern Illinois University, she discovered her true calling through hands-on work with animals. While volunteering at the University of Illinois Wildlife Medical Center, she found herself caring for injured bunnies, raccoons, and even opossums. The experience opened her eyes to the unique challenges and rewards of veterinary care, and she knew she had found a career that aligned perfectly with her skills and heart.
Now part of the team at All About Animals Pet Clinic, Claire brings enthusiasm, compassion, and curiosity to every shift. She loves interacting with patients—especially the adorable, wiggly, and sometimes nervous ones—and finds it rewarding to learn about illnesses, treatments, and advances in veterinary medicine. To Claire, every patient is an opportunity not only to provide care, but also to expand her knowledge and grow as a veterinary professional.
Outside the clinic, Claire’s life is just as active and full. A retired college tennis player, she has shifted her competitive spirit into distance running and is currently training for a half-marathon, with big dreams of one day completing an ultra-marathon. Her favorite running partner is Rango, her family’s husky doodle, who happily joins her for trail runs. When she’s not running, you might find her skiing, enjoying live music from her favorite band Rufus du Sol, or relaxing with a Diet Coke at the beach.
Claire grew up in Los Angeles and carries her West Coast love for sunshine, adventure, and animals wherever she goes. She hopes to continue blending her curiosity for science with her natural compassion for pets, always striving to grow in her role and make a difference in the lives of both animals and the people who love them.
Savannah
Veterinary Assistant
Savannah has always known she wanted to care for animals—so much so that she declared at her kindergarten graduation that she would be a veterinarian cowgirl. While the cowgirl part is still a work in progress, she has already achieved her dream as a dedicated Veterinary Assistant at All About Animals Pet Clinic.
A native of Odell, Illinois, Savannah grew up surrounded by pets and developed an early fascination with animal science and wellness. That curiosity led her to the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, where she is currently a third-year veterinary student, actively engaged in professional organizations such as Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA), the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA), and the Foundation of the Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA). Her academic journey has only strengthened her passion for preventative care, especially for cats, and the importance of educating pet owners about wellness plans that keep pets healthy year-round.
One of Savannah’s greatest joys is helping clients understand how simple, proactive care can make a huge difference in their pets’ lives. She thrives on connecting with animals of all shapes and sizes, and enjoys creating educational content for the clinic’s social media to share her knowledge with the broader pet community.
At home, Savannah is supported by her rescued cat, Moo—a Holstein look-alike she adopted during undergrad who now serves as her emotional support throughout the rigors of vet school. She loves spending quiet afternoons with Moo on the patio, watching squirrels and enjoying her coffee, a pastime that pairs perfectly with her love of reading.
When she’s not at the clinic, Savannah indulges her interests in Formula One, Illini sports, and refining her at-home barista skills. Her dedication, energy, and genuine love for animals make her an invaluable part of the All About Animals Pet Clinic family, where she continues to inspire clients and colleagues alike.
Tyler
Client Service Representative
Originally from Mahomet, Illinois, Tyler has always felt a deep connection to animals, but it was his love for building relationships—with both pets and their owners—that drew him to the veterinary field. He thrives on creating a space where clients feel like family and patients feel at home.
Today, at All About Animals Pet Clinic, Tyler’s favorite part of his job is experiencing the joy that pets bring, even on the toughest days. From greeting Nala Bear, his playful Chow Chow who still thinks she’s a puppy, to catching up with long-time clients, he finds fulfillment in every interaction. Working alongside a team that supports, inspires, and shares plenty of laughs makes each day not only productive but genuinely enjoyable.
Outside the clinic, Tyler is a gardening enthusiast and avid caretaker of indoor plants. He enjoys playing video games and exploring local trails, especially the Buffalo Trace Trail in Mahomet with Nala by his side. A self-proclaimed professional yapper, he loves long conversations about anything and everything, and he’s always ready to share a story—or a sarcastic quip—over a cup of burning hot coffee.
Tyler also has a playful side: he adores summer rain, has a soft spot for quirky pet names (Hexadecimal ranks high as his favorite thus far), and enjoys watching classics like Homeward Bound. On the flip side, dark mornings, bad hair days, and Brussels sprouts are his nemeses.
If he weren’t in the veterinary field, Tyler says he would have been an archaeologist, digging into history and uncovering the past. Thankfully, for All About Animals Pet Clinic and the countless pet owners Tyler greets with warmth and a touch of humor, we’re grateful he chose a career in animal care. His dedication and friendly approach make every visit a positive experience for both pets and their people.

Companion Caretaker
Melissa’s path into veterinary care has always been rooted in her desire to make animals feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Growing up in Chicago, she was surrounded by pets that taught her how much trust animals place in people. That early bond inspired her to pursue a role where she could give back to animals in meaningful ways, especially during the times their families are away.
As a Companion Caretaker at All About Animals Pet Clinic, Melissa focuses on creating a sense of “home” for every pet in her care. She takes pride in making sure each animal feels calm, secure, and valued, knowing that those small comforts make all the difference in their overall well-being. Her goal is always to ensure that pets leave with wagging tails, content purrs, and the reassurance that they were treated with genuine kindness.
Melissa shares her home with a lively group of pets that reflect her passion for animal care. She has two adopted cats—a tortie and a buff—along with a playful chocolate lab puppy named Rico, whom she adopted during her internship at Vermilion County Animal Control. Adding a touch of uniqueness to her household, she also cares for a pink-and-blue/purple female leopard gecko. Each of them brings their own joy, challenges, and lessons to her life, deepening her understanding of the human–animal bond.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys nurturing her love of plants, diving into a good book, and exploring her creative side through art. She also makes time for little adventures with Rico, who loves tagging along on errands and celebrating with a pup cup treat.
As the youngest in her family and a first-generation student, Melissa carries with her a strong sense of determination, compassion, and pride in the work she does every day. She looks forward to continuing her journey in animal care, creating comfort for every pet she meets, and building connections that last well beyond each visit.

Originally from Arkansas, Lexie brings Southern charm and a whole lot of pampering to her role as a bather at All About Animals Pet Clinic. Few things make her happier than seeing a freshly washed pup transformed into a cloud of softness, ready to strut out of the clinic looking and feeling their best.
While Lexie doesn’t have any pets of her own, her mom’s trio of dogs—a pair of Chihuahuas named Ozzie Merle and Lola Jade, and a Husky named Ryder Carson—ensure she still gets plenty of puppy love. When she’s not fluffing up dogs at work, Lexie is usually busy crocheting, crafting, and dreaming up new creative projects.
Lexie has a deep love for cheese, crunchy snacks, and coffee. If she weren’t pampering pets, she’d likely be running her own bakery or crafting business, but for now, she’s content bringing a little extra joy (and a lot of fluff) to the world of pet care.

Raised in Wapella, IL, Irene has always had a deep appreciation for animals, adventure, and the occasional rock concert. As a groomer at All About Animals Pet Clinic, she brings a relaxed and fun-loving energy to every grooming session, focusing on building trust and long-term relationships with both her furry clients and their humans. Irene believes grooming should be a positive experience—no strict obedience required, just good vibes and wagging tails!
At home, Irene’s pack consists of a sweet and grateful pit/lab mix named Ozzy, and Sophie, a tiny Shih Tzu with a big personality. Whether she’s out hiking, kayaking, or planning her next concert, Irene embraces life with the same positivity and enthusiasm she brings to grooming.
Irene’s all-time favorite pet movie is Lady and the Tramp, and if she weren’t a groomer, she’d likely be working in animal behavior, helping pets and their people understand each other better. For now, she’s happy making sure pets leave the clinic looking and feeling their best—maybe even with a little extra pep in their step!

Growing up in the heart of Chicago, Sofia was surrounded by the lively energy of the city—but nothing captured her heart quite like animals. Her fascination with their unique personalities led her to study at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she balances academics with her role as a veterinary assistant at All About Animals Pet Clinic.
Sofia loves meeting every pet that comes through the clinic doors, finding joy in their quirks and one-of-a-kind personalities. Whether it’s a sassy cat, an overexcited pup, or a patient who just wants cuddles, Sofia is there to make them feel comfortable and cared for. Her love for animals even extends to her own two cats, Hazel and Jade—both originally mistaken for girls but now thriving as the best little guys. Hazel even enjoys campus strolls in his stroller, proving that being a cat mom comes with its own adventures.
When she’s not at the clinic, Sofia can be found binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy for the hundredth time, snacking on hot chips, and roaming around in her beloved Birkenstocks. If she weren’t in vet med, she’d be curating the perfect soundtracks for movies—but for the time being, she’s happy making a difference, one pet at a time.

Born and raised in Champaign, IL, Zoë has always had a deep appreciation for both the big mysteries of the universe and the small joys of daily life. Whether it’s looking up at the stars or diving deep into the ocean’s unknown, she loves everything vast and unexplored—except tornadoes, those can stay far away.
At All About Animals Pet Clinic, Zoë’s favorite part of the job is spending quality time with the dogs and cats, making sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable. At home, she shares her life with Bodhi, an Airedale Terrier with a larger-than-life personality (and an undying love for peanut butter). The pair’s favorite pastimes include woodland walks and curling up to binge British murder mystery shows.
Outside of work, Zoë thrives in the world of Champaign-Urbana community theatre, embracing every dramatic moment on stage. Horror movies, deep-sea wonders, and a strong dislike for ASMR round out her wonderfully quirky personality. Life is never boring when Zoë is around—especially when she’s got Bodhi by her side.

Madison grew up in Champaign, IL, with an innate love for animals, which led her straight to the Animal Sciences program at the University of Illinois. Always curious about the inner workings of both science and nature, she originally considered radiology, but her heart kept pulling her back to working with animals.
As a companion caretaker at All About Animals Pet Clinic, Madison loves learning each pet’s unique personality, and ensuring they feel cared for while their families are away. Her own furry best friend, Murphy the mini Goldendoodle, is always ready for playtime, cuddles, or a trip to the park.
When she’s not working or studying, Madison is all about good books, great music, and binge-worthy Netflix shows. Mexican food is her ultimate comfort, and her dream dog is an Irish Setter—though Murphy would argue that he’s already the perfect pup. Whether she’s caring for pets at work or unwinding with her own, Madison’s world is full of wagging tails and happy moments, and she wouldn’t have it any other way!

Born and raised in Danville, Illinois, Michael has always had a way with animals, especially dogs. As a Companion Caretaker at All About Animals Pet Clinic, he spends his days making sure the dogs (and their people) feel welcome, comfortable, and loved. Whether it’s a quick visit or a longer stay, Michael is always there to offer a friendly smile, a gentle hand, and perhaps a few extra treats.
At home, Michael is outnumbered by his four dogs—Bella, Oliver, Trumpy, and Mitzi—who keep him on his toes and ensure there’s never a dull moment. Michael loves taking them to the park and the lake, where they can run, splash, and just enjoy being dogs.
When he’s not surrounded by pups, Michael enjoys watching Sargent Stubby, his favorite pet-related movie. His dream job—if he weren’t already living a pretty great one—would be anything that lets him spend time with more dogs, cats, and the people who love them. Now, as an Animal Sciences major at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Emma’s on a mission to turn that passion into a lifelong career—possibly as an animal nutritionist or something else in the animal field.
As a Companion Caretaker, Emma thrives in the positive, hardworking environment at All About Animals Pet Clinic. She loves forming bonds with the pets she cares for, and ensuring they feel safe and happy during their time at the clinic. Whether it’s giving a nervous pup some extra attention or helping a cat settle in, she finds joy in making a difference in their day.
Outside of work and school, Emma is always on the move. She loves being outdoors, whether it’s playing volleyball, hiking, biking, or simply watching the sunset from her deck with Momo. Emma is a traveler at heart, a coffee enthusiast, and—fun fact—has never broken a bone (though she’s not looking to test her luck anytime soon).

Ava’s own pet, Ozzy, an Egyptian Mau with a huge personality, is the king of her household. He loves cuddling, exploring the yard, and, of course, napping—lots of napping. Ava makes sure he gets his daily adventures outside, while also balancing her own love for hiking, working out, and spending time with friends.
Outside of work, Ava’s life is all about good vibes—whether that means hanging with her pets, enjoying great food (as long as there are no pickles involved), or staying active. Her future may be in accounting, but for now, she’s soaking up every moment she gets to work with animals and their unique, lovable personalities.

She takes the time to bond with each animal, making their stay as stress-free as possible. Her favorite part of the job? Showering pets with attention and affection, because every animal deserves to feel special.

Now, she transforms scruffy pups into fresh, happy companions while giving their owners that heartwarming “wow” moment at pick-up.
For Marci, grooming isn’t just about a good haircut. It’s about improving a dog’s quality of life. Whether she’s giving a shy pooch a confidence-boosting spa day or helping a senior dog feel more comfortable, Marci takes pride in making a difference. Her dream job would be working in a canine behavioral rehabilitation center, but for now, she’s thrilled to be pampering pups at the clinic.
At home, Marci’s own dogs—Cora, Asher, and Zoey—keep her entertained with backyard zoomies and endless photo opportunities. When she’s not spoiling her pups, you’ll usually find Marci thrifting, playing Animal Crossing, or watching Formula 1. As a companion caretaker at All About Animals Pet Clinic, Elena’s favorite part of the job is taking dogs on their much-needed walks, letting them stretch their legs and enjoy some fresh air. She has a deep appreciation for all animals, which is made clear by little zoo she has at home, including Sadie the cat and two mischievous ferrets, Rocket and Pebbles. Whether they’re cuddling, exploring, or causing absolute chaos, they keep her on her toes.
When she’s not at work or studying, Elena enjoys rolling through town on her skateboard, going for long walks to the park, and, on occasion, showing off her ability to ride a unicycle. Her dream job would be in humane investigation, making a difference for animals in need—but for now, she’s perfectly happy being able to love on every pet that crosses her path.

Growing up in Tolono, IL, Alex has always had a heart for animals. Whether it was family pets or the occasional wildlife encounter, caring for animals came as second nature. Now, as a client service representative at All About Animals, Alex loves being part of a team that improves the lives of pets every single day.
At home, Alex has a full house with two lovable dogs—Bo, a treeing walker coonhound/lab mix who still acts like a puppy, and a gentle German shepherd/lab mix. They rule the couch, especially after a long day. Then there’s Oliver and Gilly, two mischievous cats who treat nighttime like a personal racetrack. It’s a lively, loving household where there’s never a dull moment.
When not wrangling pets or assisting clients, Alex enjoys kayaking, playing video games, and watching The Labyrinth on repeat. Relaxing, eating, and laughing with friends are the top priorities in life, making every day a little brighter. Working at the clinic has only deepened a lifelong passion for helping animals—and the camaraderie makes it all the more rewarding.
Karlie
Client Service Representative
Growing up in Decatur, IL, Karlie was always the kid bringing home an odd assortment of pets—from frogs and fish to hamsters, and even a mountain horned lizard. Her love for all creatures (especially the scaly ones) led her to Illinois State University, where she studied Biology with a focus in Zoology. If you bring an exotic pet into the clinic, Karlie’s the first in line to say hello!
As a Client Service Representative at All About Animals Pet Clinic, Karlie enjoys meeting every pet that comes through the door, but she has a particular soft spot for the feline and reptilian visitors. Her dream job would be working in a herpetarium, but for now, she’s happy geeking out over unique pets, cracking jokes with coworkers, and making sure every client leaves with a smile.
Karlie’s home is a mini zoo of its own, featuring two cats—Zucchini (Kini the Kitten) and Squash (Squish the Kitty)—plus Jefferson Cheese, her beloved hedgehog. When she’s not at work, you’ll most likely find Karlie fishing, camping, or binging anime and K-dramas. If there’s a fire crackling, a cat buzzing on her lap, and a Mountain Dew in hand, Karlie is living her best life.
Tammy

Tammy grew up in Monticello, IL, where she developed a deep appreciation for nature, fresh flowers, and long walks through the countryside. With a love for beautiful spaces and a keen eye for detail, she once considered a career in interior design, but her passion for animals led her in a different direction: helping pet owners feel at home at All About Animals Pet Clinic.
As a Client Service Representative, Tammy is the friendly face that clients look forward to seeing. She loves watching puppies grow up, developing relationships with their humans, and being part of a team that feels more like a family. Whether she’s greeting patients at the front desk or tending to the clinic’s flowers, Tammy brings warmth and positivity to everything she does.
Outside of work, Tammy shares her life with Pearl, a sassy Beagle with a mind of her own, and Onyx, a sweet and snuggly kitten. When she’s not working, she’s likely out shopping, planting flowers, or soaking up the sunshine—unless, of course, she spots a spider or a snake, in which case, she’s heading in the opposite direction!
Haillie
Veterinary Assistant/CSR/Bather/CCT
Originally from Fisher, IL, Haillie is a true animal lover through and through. Her home is filled with a crew of misfit pets, from her wonky-eyed kitty Bindi to her very social axolotl, Barnabas. Haillie always had a special fondness for one-eyed animals, and her deep love for rescue pets has made her a compassionate advocate for animals with unique needs.
Haillie wears many hats at All About Animals Pet Clinic, including veterinary assistant, client service representative, bather, and certified companion caretaker. She thrives in the clinic’s fast-paced environment, adores her work family, and cherishes the bonds she builds with clients and their pets. In fact, on her days off, Haillie often finds herself wondering what her favorite patients are up to!
When she’s not at the clinic, Haillie enjoys crocheting, playing video games, and sipping coffee while snuggling an animal (or three). She hates being cold, dislikes driving in unfamiliar places, and could do without missing out on a shift when her favorite patients come in. If she weren’t in vet med, Haillie would love to be a writer—but for now, she’s perfectly happy living her own real-life story, surrounded by her beloved pets.
Jacklyn
Veterinary Technician
Growing up in Algonquin, IL, Jacklyn was always the one bringing home critters—whether it was a wayward frog, a curious insect, or a stray cat that “followed her home.” That love for animals never faded, leading her to pursue a degree at the University of Illinois and ultimately land a role as a veterinary assistant at All About Animals Pet Clinic.
At the clinic, Jacklyn enjoys getting to know both clients and their beloved pets, making every visit feel personal and welcoming. Her own animal family is as unique as her interests. Chili the chinchilla, Olive the cat, and Nina the crested gecko keep her life full of furry (and scaly) companionship. When she’s not at work, Jacklyn is usually out on the trails hiking or mountain biking, or staying inside to crochet and craft little trinkets.
Jacklyn’s world revolves around good food, fresh air, and collecting the tiniest treasures. But don’t come near her with overcooked pasta or peanut butter—she’s got standards. If she weren’t in vet med, Jacklyn could easily see herself as a teacher. Fortunately for us, she’s right where she belongs, caring for animals and making people smile.
Lauren
Veterinary Technician
Hailing from Weiser, Idaho, Lauren has always had a soft spot for animals, from the puppies and kittens she played with as a kid to the beloved pets she cares for today. Her love for veterinary medicine led her to the College of Southern Idaho, where she honed her skills and developed a passion for dental care and making every furry patient feel right at home.
At All About Animals Pet Clinic, Lauren finds satisfaction in the little things—puppy snuggles, perfectly polished teeth after a dental cleaning, and working alongside a great team. Whether she’s assisting in procedures or helping pets feel their best, Lauren brings patience, compassion, and a whole lot of love to her work.
Outside of the clinic, Lauren’s life is filled with pets (two dogs and three cats), family, and plenty of fun. She loves playing fetch, going on walks, and working on new tricks with her animals. When she’s not busy being the ultimate pet mom, you’ll usually find Lauren swimming, playing video games, watching movies, or beating friends at board games. A true animal whisperer, even Lauren’s cats gather around when she sings at home—a private concert just for them!
Shelby

Born and raised in Princeton, IL, Shelby always had a fascination with animals and science. That insatiable interest led her to Parkland College, where she earned her certification as a veterinary technician. Now, at All About Animals Pet Clinic, she gets to combine her love for animals with hands-on medical care, meeting all kinds of pets and making sure they get the best treatment possible.
Shelby’s job keeps her busy, but she wouldn’t have it any other way! Every day brings a new pet with a new personality, and she enjoys the challenge of understanding and caring for them. Whether she’s assisting in treatments, comforting a nervous patient, or helping a pet parent, she takes great pride in truly making a difference.
At home, Shelby’s cat Belle rules the house, keeping her company when she’s unwinding with a good book or some music. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll usually find her at the gym, indulging in sushi and ramen, or daydreaming about what life would be like as a marine biologist (maybe one day!). For now, Shelby is happy right where she is—helping pets and their humans every single day.

Born and raised in Illiopolis, IL, Brooke has always been a book-loving, animal-adoring, roller-skating enthusiast with a soft spot for emergency medicine. At All About Animals Pet Clinic, Brooke is right in her element, working with a team she considers her second family. Whether she’s assisting in urgent cases, providing top-notch care, or just sharing laughs with her coworkers, Brooke loves the fast-paced nature of her job. Her quick thinking and compassion make her a rockstar in emergency situations, and she wouldn’t trade the adrenaline rush for anything—well, save for maybe a Basset Hound or two.
At home, Brooke shares her life with Nova, her lovable Lab mix, and Phil, her hilariously named guinea pig (short for Neutrophil, because science). When she’s not caring for pets, she enjoys reading, hiking, and roller skating—preferably not all at the same time. If she weren’t in vet med, Brooke would likely be a librarian, but luckily for the animals, she chose scrubs over shelves.
Amber
CVT
Raised in La Place, IL, Amber has always had a love for animals and an eye for detail, which made veterinary medicine a perfect fit. She studied at Parkland College and became a Certified Veterinary Technician, specializing in surgery, dental procedures, and working with an amazing team that feels like family.
At All About Animals Pet Clinic, Amber shines in the surgical suite, ensuring that every patient receives top-notch care. Whether she’s assisting with dentals, prepping for surgery, or simply comforting a nervous pet, Amber finds immense fulfillment in knowing she’s making a difference. Her dedication extends beyond just the medical side—she loves bonding with clients and their pets, making each visit as stress-free as possible.
At home, Amber juggles life as a mom of three boys while also caring for a lively bunch of pets, including two senior cats, a rabbit, a sweet Boston Terrier, and an adorable Frenchie. When the weather’s nice, Amber enjoys being outside, gardening, and indulging in a well-earned glass of wine. If she weren’t in the veterinary field, she might have pursued surgical technology or ultrasound, but truth be told, she’s pretty happy right where she is.
Caleb
Practice Manager
Growing up in Champaign, IL, Caleb had a deep love for animals, family, and a good laugh. Whether he was playing with pets or catching an Illini basketball game, he knew early on that he wanted a career that blended his caring nature with his ability to make people smile. Here at All About Animals, Caleb has found his true calling—helping pets and their humans while keeping the workplace upbeat and fun.
Caleb attended Parkland College, where he developed and honed his veterinary skills. As our Lead Certified Veterinary Technician, Caleb loves working alongside his coworkers, cuddling puppies and kittens, and making a difference in the lives of pets and their owners. He has a particular knack for easing the minds of worried pet parents and is always happy to lend a helping hand (or a corny joke) to brighten someone’s day.
At home, Caleb and his wife, Megan, share their lives with their two beloved pets: Cotton, the cat with plenty of attitude, and Dash, the ever-energetic pup. In his free time, Caleb enjoys cooking up something delicious, playing board and video games with Megan, and cheering on the Chicago Bulls, Cubs, and Illini basketball team. If he weren’t in vet med, Caleb would probably be a teacher—though his students might get just as many jokes as lessons!
Adrianne
Practice Manager
Hailing from Peoria, Illinois, Adrianne has been a part of the veterinary world since 1989, when she first started as a kennel assistant. Over the years since, Adrianne has performed just about every task in the field, but her true passion lies in taking care of the people who take care of pets. As the Practice Manager at All About Animals Pet Clinic, she ensures that the clinic runs smoothly, supporting the hardworking team that makes great pet care possible.
In addition to her veterinary prowess, Adrianne is a woman of many talents. When she’s not managing the clinic, she’s diving into her hobbies, which include amateur beekeeping, reading, and solving crossword puzzles with an uncanny ability to drop pop-culture references. She has a soft spot for Siamese cats, a love for Mountain Dew, and an aversion to alarm clocks, okra, and surprise spider sightings on the ceiling.
Outside of work, Adrianne’s pride and joy is Dude, a mixed-breed mutt who lives like an only child and enjoys all the pampering that comes with it. Together, they take road trips to Camp Dogwood in Wisconsin, a dog-friendly paradise worth every mile of the drive. If Adrianne weren’t managing a vet clinic, she’d likely be working in a plant nursery—still tapping into her nurturing side, just with fewer wagging tails!
Dr. Averie Field
DVM
Growing up in Central Pennsylvania, Dr. Averie Field spent her childhood surrounded by nature, animals, and a deep curiosity for the world around her. Whether she was exploring the great outdoors, caring for pets, or diving into a new DIY project, she always had a hands-on approach to life. As a veterinarian, Dr. Field has perfected the art of connecting with both pets and their people—even in the toughest moments.
Dr. Field’s lifelong passion for animals and science led her to the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. As one of the vets here at All About Animals, Dr. Field finds joy in every aspect of her job, from educating pet owners to continuously learning new ways to improve animal care. She’s especially passionate about managing pain and ensuring that pets feel comfortable and loved throughout their lives. Dr. Field’s memberships in AVMA, ISVMA, CVMF, and AASRP keep her at the forefront of veterinary medicine, but at the end of the day, it’s all about making a difference—one wagging tail or gentle purr at a time.
When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll probably find Dr. Field embracing her love of nature with her husband and their adventurous Aussie mix, Lydie, who enjoys hiking, running, and an enthusiastic game of “chase the bunny” (though the bunnies probably don’t find it as fun). On top of that, she tends to a lively homestead of seven sheep—each with a perfectly quirky name—and a flock of over 20 laying hens. Even with all of this, Dr. Field still finds time for creative outlets like kayaking, crafting, and, in a truly unexpected twist, building backyard rollercoasters with friends across the country.
Dr. Cailey Vandermark
DVM
Raised in Aurora, IL, Dr. Cailey Vandermark grew up with a love for animals and adventure. Whether she was hiking through forests, camping under the stars, or taking care of her childhood pets, she always knew she wanted a career that combined her passion for animals with her love of learning. As a veterinarian, Dr. Vandermark is living her lifelong dream and loving every moment.
Dr. Vandermark earned her undergrad at Southern Illinois University before going on to earn her DVM from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Clinically, Dr. Vandermark thrives on the excitement of learning something new every day. She especially enjoys working with a wide range of animals, including pocket pets and reptiles, and creating a welcoming space for clients navigating their pets’ health.
At home, Dr. Vandermark’s world is just as lively, thanks to Clint, her adventure-loving mixed-breed dog, Slytherin the corn snake, and Sabean the leopard gecko. When she’s not at work, she’s off exploring—whether that’s hiking, bouldering, or road-tripping to a new National Park (she’s already checked off half of them and plans to see them all). She also loves to cook. If she weren’t a veterinarian, she might have become a National Park ranger, but for now, Dr. Vandermark is happy to bring her expertise to pets of all shapes and sizes.
Dr. Meg Gantzer
DVM
Hailing from Freeport, IL, Dr. Meg Gantzer has always had a love for animals, adventure, and a little bit of chaos (the fun kind). As a University of Illinois grad—proudly shouting “I-L-L!” whenever she can— Dr. Gantzer turned her passion into a career dedicated to keeping companion animals happy and healthy.
At work, Dr. Gantzer finds joy in the little things: the sweetness of puppy breath, the warmth of kitten snuggles, and the satisfaction of helping families care for their beloved pets. Whether she’s tackling wellness visits or navigating tricky medical cases, she’s always ready with a smile and a solution.
Dr. Gantzer’s home life includes three furry sidekicks: Romee and Jubee, her feline overlords, and Mochi, her playful pup. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find her traveling, playing video games, or battling it out on the pickleball court. Dr. Gantzer is also a certified scuba diver, and if life had taken a different turn, you might have spotted her soaring through the air as a Cirque du Soleil acrobat.
Dr. Kate Rutherford
DVM
For Dr. Kate Rutherford, veterinary medicine isn’t just a career. It’s in her DNA. Growing up in her father’s veterinary clinic in Shelbyville, IL, she spent her childhood surrounded by animals and learning the ropes from a seasoned pro. That early exposure made her path to the University of Illinois an easy choice, and today, she’s living her dream of caring for pets and the people who love them.
At All About Animals, Dr. Rutherford is in her element, whether she’s helping a wobbly senior dog feel young again, welcoming an eager puppy to their first checkup, or collaborating with her team. She also brings her expertise to the next generation of vets, teaching DVM students at U of I’s Clinical Skills Learning Center.
Her home life is a whirlwind of fur and fun, with Yoshi (her foot-warming English Pointer mix), Llewey (a snuggly English Setter mix), Lucky (her eventing partner and Percheron Paint mix), and two spoiled barn cats, Tack and Echo. Outside of work, Dr. Rutherford loves showing her horse, baking mocha brownies, and getting lost in a good book. If she weren’t a veterinarian, she’d be teaching another science—but she’s pretty happy right where she is.
Dr. Joella Koss
Owner, DVM
Growing up on a farm in Pesotum, IL, Dr. Joella Koss was always surrounded by animals, from cows to dogs, cats, and everything in between. As a child, her days were filled with outdoor adventures, sports, and the occasional science experiment, fueling her passion for both animals and problem-solving and setting the foundation for a career dedicated to helping pets live their best lives.
A triple Illini graduate, Dr. Koss attended the University of Illinois, where she earned her veterinary degree. Now the proud owner of All About Animals Pet Clinic, Dr. Koss thrives on client education, surgical procedures, dentistry, dermatology, and mentoring the next generation of veterinary professionals. Whether she’s in the operating room or chatting with pet parents, she loves making a difference in the lives of both animals and their humans.
At home, Dr. Koss is outnumbered by her furry crew, including five Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, a Dutch Shepherd, a Golden Retriever, and two cats—all of whom enjoy running around the countryside. When she’s not working, you’ll find her watching sports, working out, or whipping up something delicious in the kitchen (though she’s not a fan of cleaning up after). If she hadn’t pursued veterinary medicine, Dr. Koss might have been a professional drag racer, engineer, or even a doctor or lawyer—but honestly, she wouldn’t trade this career for anything.
